Mid-Autumn Festival 2017 @ Chinatown

It’s the time of the year again where you get to enjoy yummy mooncakes, see dazzling light-up display around Chinatown and gather together with your family and friends. There’s seriously only one place to go during this period and its Chinatown.

On 23 September, the Mid-Autumn Festival 2017 will start off with the Opening Ceremony, including Official Street Light-up and performances by local and overseas troupes from China. The night will end with a spectacular fireworks displays. It will be held along New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street, from 7pm to 10pm.

Between 20 September and 4 October, you can walk through bustling festive street stalls and shops for the festive goodies. You guys will be spoilt for choices as there will be over 300 stalls selling mooncakes, pomelos, lanterns, handicrafts, tea and more. These stalls can be found at Pagoda Street, Trengganu Street, Sago Street, and Smith Street daily from 10:30am to 10:30pm.

There will be a nightly performance being held at Kreta Ayer Square from 8pm to 10:30pm daily till 4 October. Furthermore, there is a Mid-Autumn Family Fest held in Kreta Ayer Community Club on 24 September 2017, 9am to 12pm.

Still don’t feel the hype about Mid-Autumn Festival? Then you got to join in for the Mass Lantern Walk ‘爱心同行 中秋义走’ on 1 October 2017. You get to see Mediacorp TV artistes and Mediacorp Mandarin Radio DJs from Capital 95.8fm, LOVE 97.2fm, and YES 93.3fm during the Mass Lantern Walk. Each lantern will cost S$10, and all proceeds will be given to charity, and you get to receive a goodie bag worth S$20.
