B&O Play BeoPlay H9 Headphones Review

Thanks to Bang & Olufsen Singapore, I got the opportunity to try out their latest headphones B&O Play BeoPlay H9!

BeoPlay H9 is their latest Wireless, Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Over-Ear headphones. It comes in 2 colors, Black and Argilla Grey. I’ve got the black one, and gosh, it looks so luxurious and stunning!

Some facts about this headphones to start things off. This luxurious, lightweight headphones come with a rechargeable/replaceable battery, with a capacity of 770mAh that can last up to 14 hours playback with charging time of approximately 2 hours. It uses the latest Bluetooth 4.2 that supports aptX and AAC codecs, and it’s capable with all smartphones. BeoPlay H9 incorporate the power and precision of authentic Bang & Olufsen Signature Sound.

BeoPlay H9 uses the over-ear design to give you better comfort. It has an intuitive aluminum touch interface to gives you control over your music and phone calls. And also, H9 is able to block most of the noise off and allow you focus on your favorite tracks. It has a hybrid noise cancellation which uses 2 microphones to accurately capture and measure ambient noises and effective canceling it out with the opposite signal.

So what I think about it? I’m usually not a fan of headphones and I find it usually bulky and ugly. But after using BeoPlay H9, I had a different perspective on headphones, as this is so luxurious and portable and cool. The ANC really works very well on able to cancel out all excessive noises and let me enjoy my favorite tunes.

The bass was deep, while the treble remains clear, giving a balance which I prefer, as I usually prefer songs with a heavier bass. However, I do feel that the sound produced is a bit “photoshop”, in a sense where the sounds are somehow beautified to make it sounds nicer, which is a bit tiring after some time. And if you are an iPhone user like me, you will be able to see the headphones’ battery life from your phone. The touch button took me some time to figure it out, but work out well after that.

BeoPlay H9 makes other headphones in the market feels like Charles & Keith, Braun Buffel, while itself feels like Louis Vuitton and Prada. The fact that it is an expensive headphones, so if you have some cash to spare, and looking for good(looking/sound) headphones. Why not give B&O Play BeoPlay H9 a try, it’s retailing at S$699 at selected retailers.
