Singapore Airlines has announced its brand-new cabin products today, that will be fitted in all of its Airbus A380 fleet. As the launch customer for Airbus A380 in 2007, Singapore Airlines is striving for changes to better serve its customers, continuing to deliver the world’s best travel experience.
Currently, Singapore Airlines’ A380 fleet flies to 13 destinations including Auckland, Beijing, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, Melbourne, Mumbai, New Delhi, New York, Paris, Shanghai, Sydney, and Zurich.
The revamped aircraft will cater 4 different cabin types, carrying up to 471 passengers. There will be 6 Singapore Airlines Suite, 78 Business Class seats, 44 Premium Economy Class seats and 343 Economy Class seats.
Six Singapore Airlines Suite, which’s tucked at the front of Upper Deck of the aircraft, customers will experience a sense of exclusivity and intimate privacy. Each suite is suited with a full-flat bed with adjustable recline and plush leather chair that is fully adjustable to accommodate a variety of sitting positions. Each suite also comes with a full-sized personal wardrobe, a handbag stowage compartment, carpet, feature wall with mood lighting and a fully enclosed private bathroom.
Okay, but to be honest, almost none of us will be flying in the Singapore Airlines Suite anytime soon. So we shall look at the more possible ones – the Business Class. The seat which is 25-inch (width) has 2 side wings for a better back support that is able to recline into a comfortable full-flat bed (78-inches). Each Business Class seat is fitted with an 18” HD touchscreen monitor. Business Class seats will be arranged in a 1-2-1 seating configuration. Other features consist of USB posts, in-seat power, reading lights with adjustable brightness, mood lighting and a larger dining table specially designed for flexibility in dining positions.
Premium Economy Class passengers will enjoy a width of the 19.5-inch seat, with 8-inch recline and seat pitch of 38-inches. You will get to enjoy enhanced in-flight entertainment experience with active noise-cancelling handphones and a 13.3 Full-HD monitor. Each seat will come with individual in-seat power supply, 2 USB ports, in-seat reading light, cocktail table and more storage space.
Lastly, the Economy Class where the majority of us will be flying with. The revamped seats offer more space and greater comfort. Seats offer more legroom and back support, it comes with a six-way adjustable headrest with foldable wings. An 11.1” touchscreen monitor is introduced to eliminate handsets and provide passengers more convenient when using the in-flight entertainment system. Economy Class will have a 32-inches seat pitch with 18.5 inches of seat width. In-seat power supply and coat hook are installed too.
The revamped A380 will be SQ221, will depart from Singapore at 8:40pm on December 18 to Sydney. Other destinations will be announced in coming months, while all A380 will be revamped by 2020.
