Ninja Burger is Here at McDonald’s Singapore

After the success of Samurai Burger, McDonald’s Singapore is giving us all-new Ninja Burger starting from 2 November 2017.

It features a crispy chicken thigh and sweet Japanese Nanban sauce, alongside with sliced cucumbers and shredded white lettuce with Japanese Tartar sauce. All these will be sandwiched in between 2 lightly toasted charcoal sesame buns.

The Ninja Burger Meal will be available from S$9.20, that includes Large Seaweed Shaker Fries and a Medium Heaven & Earth Green Tea. Al Carte price of the burger itself is S$6.40.

Ninja Burger will be available in McDonald’s islandwide and thru McDelivery & UberEATS too!

Fish & Chicks – Affordable Western Food

So I finally went to try out Fish & Chicks stall today at their Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 Branch. Wasn’t having a long queue and went on to order a plate of Boston Lobster Mantaiko Pasta, Fried Chicken Tomato Herb Pasta, and Mushroom Soup.

Boston Lobster Mantaiko Pasta (S$16.90) This is going to be the most affordable Lobster pasta you can ever get in Singapore. The lobster was full with meat, well-cooked and juicy with a springy texture. As for the pasta, it was creamy and tasty. One serving of this dish isn’t enough to keep my tastebud happy!

Next, I’ve tried the Fried Chicken Tomato Herb Pasta (S$9.50). The chicken was served in a size you can never see in any other eateries, it was huge! And also crispy and tender. The mixture of slow-cooked egg with the tomato herb pasta comes out to be all well and was better than I expected, as I personally don’t really like tomato-based pasta. It was a good dish to keep me eating and eating.

Lastly, the disappointing dish, Mushroom Soup (S$3.10). It was a little expensive for a bowl of mushroom soup. The soup wasn’t flavorful and was quite bland.

In overall, I’m quite pleased with the dishes I’ve tried, while some can be greatly improved. I will highly recommend you to try them! They have many other popular dishes that you could try too! It’s definitely worth your money and your tastebud will be happy!

McDonald’s Team Up With UberEATS

Calling all McLovers! You all-time favorite fast-food chain has teamed up with UberEATS! What does this mean to you? We are able to get our McDonald’s meal quicker and easier!

With the help of UberEATS mobile app, it will complement the current 24/7 McDelivery service. It can provide customers greater accessibility to McDonald’s meal.

Currently, there will be only 60 outlets that support UberEATS app, but this will be increased to all 133 outlets by the end of the year.

The advantage of using the UberEATS app is that there won’t be any minimum order, and you are able to track your order till your doorstep via the app. You will also be able to contact your delivery partner when needed.

However, do take note that the standard UberEATS delivery charge of S$3 still applies. And do expect price surge during times of high demand.

Christmas Arrives Early with Starbucks

It’s 61 days to Christmas.

From 25 October 2017, Starbucks is giving you 3 reasons to start enjoying the festive seasons with their festive beverages.

There will be a new beverage this year called Vanilla Nougat Latte. It’s smooth Nougat sauce mixes well with steamed milk, espresso and French Vanilla. This festive beverage is then finished with a mixed berry drizzle and crunchy strawberry almond nougat candy topping.

The second beverage is the Toffee Nut Crunch Latte. Rich, buttery notes of sweet Toffee is combined with toasted nuts and a blend of espresso and steamed milk. Finally ending with fluffy whipped cream and sticky toffee nut crunch.

Last but not least is our all-time favourite festive beverage – Peppermint Mint. What some may call it “Expensive TCM Medicine”. It’s bright peppermint notes dances with rich mocha sauce, topped with whipped cream, mocha drizzle and crunchy red-white candy bits.

Other than the festive beverages, Starbucks also wants you to indulge in their cakes, pies and puddings specially made for this year’s Christmas. These includes Christmas Tree Brownie Pop, Strawberry Red Velvet Muffin, Milk & Chocolate Pudding Cup, Cranberry & Pistachio Loaf and more!

13 Stages – 7 Flavours of Chicken, 13 Flavours of Kopi

13 Stages, opened by MediaCorp artist Mark Lee, his wife, and 2 other friends, located in Kallang Wave Mall. This latest eatery focuses on 7 different flavours of chicken and 13 different flavours of Kopi that you can choose from, which is quite a new thing in Singapore. This eatery isn’t huge, the furniture is simple and modest, suitable for friends, family gatherings.

Let’s talk about the menu. You can choose between 7 different flavours of chicken: Imperial Ginger Chicken, Danggui Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Mala Chicken, Indonesian Style Chicken, Assam Chicken and Curry Chicken. All Imperial Chicken Rice set comes with chicken rice/white rice and soup. They are served in a bamboo basket and comes with a chicken leg and drumstick. I’ve tried the Imperial Ginger, Danggui and Sesame Chickens, and prefer the Sesame Chicken more than the rest, as I find it quite special and the sauce is very aromatic, a very new & nice combination between both. The chicken rice was decent, could be better I guess, but was definitely fragrance. What’s chicken rice without the chilli, as for 13 Stages, the chilli is a perfect mixture of sweetness and spiciness, it’s very addictive.

I ordered a plate of Seasonal Green, but however, I felt that the vegetables were a bit overcooked.

As for the Kopi, you get to choose from 13 different flavours, which is named after 13 different states in Malaysia, which are Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Pulau Pinang, Perak, Perlis, Selangor, Terengganu, Sabah and Sarawak. The staff introduced Johor+Melaka and Johor+Pulau Pinang which are the more popular ones. Which I think isn’t that bad, it has a bittersweet taste, quite unique. You get to choose to combine 2 or 3 types of Kopi into one.

Lastly, I’ve ordered an Imperial Ginger Chicken Cheong Fun, which is totally a surprise, didn’t know my all time favourite ‘Chee Cheong Fun’ can be done in this manner! It’s really unique and tasty. There are other dishes like Wraps, Chwee Kueh and Beansprouts.

First Food Review: Kimchi Korean Restaurant

So, I was at Suntec City for COMEX 2017 and decided to have Korean food for dinner, as I have been craving for them for weeks. Thus, decided to have a try at Kimchi Korean Restaurant. So here’s my quick review of how good it was!

First impression, the ambient of the restaurant was good, clean and the staffs were very friendly. So this restaurant aims to serve authentic classic Korean food, as well as regional favorites from Busan and Andong. Executive Chef Choi Minchul and his team of chef are the guys behind such awesome authentic Korean food.

Jap Chae (S$8.90). A simple dish of stir-fried Korean glass noodle with vegetables. It was not bad, but I was kinda expecting a little more flavoring.

Gondrae Doenjang Jjigae (S$15.90) served with rice. It’s more of a vegetarian kind of dish, as it contains bean curd, zucchini, mushroom, leek, mushroom and Cirsium setidens (aka gondre) with Gondrae Bean Paste soup. The soup is quite refreshing and smooth, with a little bit of spiciness. However, it does has a bit of ‘vegetable taste’ in the soup, so if you don’t like vegetables, you might want to try other dishes.

Aadong Jjim Dak Dolsot Bap (S$15.90) served with Korean seaweed & egg soup. This dish is a regional dish from Aadong, and is rarely seen in any other Korean restaurants. It’s a stone pot with marinated Korean soy sauce chicken thighs with some vegetables and a sunny-side-up egg. The gravy was very aromatic, the chicken thighs were very tender, this dish was delicious.

Kimchi Korean Restaurant easily beat the other Korean restaurant in Singapore with its unique selection of food. What’s more is the price, which is totally affordable!
